The first day of free agency for the Florida Panthers following their first Stanley Cup championship proceeded more slowly than usual. The main story of the day was the announcement of Sam Reinhart’s eight-year contract extension, which was expected given that both the Panthers and Reinhart had stated throughout the season that a $69 million deal was eventually completed.
