Joe Cox, an Ole Miss football staff member, has made the decision to disregard all rumors regarding his possible romance with Kelly Stafford during his time at Georgia. On Friday morning, the former Bulldogs quarterback broke his silence on the subject with a non-related video.
All he’s going to do is move on!
Cox posted from Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in order to accomplish this. An emoji for love was included in his caption. Not a thing more. brief and delightful.
Cox was Georgia’s quarterback from 2005 to 2009. During his first three seasons in Athens, he was Matthew Stafford’s backup; however, as a senior, he assumed the starting role.
Matthew’s current wife, Kelly Stafford, recently talked about their early dating days. They didn’t always agree with one other. To make him jealous, she even went on a date with his backup.
To shorten a long story short, the relationship wasn’t quite adorable at first. I detested him. I cherished him. To put him off, I dated the backup, and it worked. And he was the bad boy. Matthew embodied all the qualities of a Southern gentleman and sweetness. He was irritated since the backup was the total opposite. Thankfully, it proved to be effective.
Naturally, collegiate football supporters began to conjecture about the potential backup player right away. Cox is among the choices. The others are Logan Gray, Blake Barnes, and Joe Tereshinski.
Cox was one of the most competent possibilities, even if I am 99.99% certain that Kelly Stafford’s “other guy” is Gray. Matthew attended Matthew’s college for three years, and during that time, Cox always ranked second on the depth chart. And even though Gray, not Cox, was the one doing it, Lane Kiffin did not stop it.
He fueled the flames even more! In response to an image that connected Kelly Stafford to the tight ends coach at Ole Miss, the head coach said, “Maybe.” Though it seems like Gray was the person and it was probably just a joke, there’s a 25% chance that Cox was Stafford’s backup who “dated” his wife before they were married. We might never find out!
Irrespective of the eventual disclosure of the facts, Cox is obviously not going to address it. He posted from inside the stadium on Friday morning, ignoring all of the online discussion because he is only concerned about the Rebels.
