Packers Mock Draft: The offense gets stronger in Green Bay

The 2024 draft class has a strong offensive line, so don’t be shocked if Green Bay declares several picks at the position in April.

It’s time to start playing the mock draft game at last. It’s still a few weeks away from the combine, let alone pro days, so a lot will happen in the next several months about how draft prospects are seen, but we might as well try.

We will only be using Pro Football Focus’ mock draft simulator to choose the Green Bay Packers selections in the first three rounds of the draft because we are still getting to know the names in this class.

The favorable tidings? We still have a lot of picks to choose from because the Packers control five selections within the first 91 picks in the draft.

The 24 decisions that were taken in our simulation before the Packers were on the clock are displayed in the image above.

Notably, Joe Alt, Olu Fashanu, Taliese Fuaga, J.C. Latham, and Amarius Mims were the five offensive tackles selected before Green Bay made its selection.

This draft season, fans of the Packers should keep a close eye on the offensive line because receiver, offensive line, and cornerback appear to be the draft’s strengths.

Given the Packers’ history of not selecting first-round receivers and the abundance of young pass-catchers under contract, it is highly unlikely that the team will select a receiver as its first-round pick.

Although some people disagree, I don’t think there is a serious issue at cornerback on the depth chart. In my opinion, Carrington Valentine proved enough in his debut season of 2023 to be considered a possible long-term starter going forward.

By no means do I believe Jaire Alexander is done, and the team should expect to have outside cornerback Eric Stokes return from a hamstring ailment in the upcoming season.
Additionally, there’s a good probability that the team will re-sign slot cornerback and kickoff returner Keisean Nixon. Four contributors for 2.5 starting positions is what that is.

That means that our options are limited to offensive linemen because there aren’t many (if any) first-round prospects at running back, off-ball linebacker, or safety in this draft.

Don’t be shocked if, at the conclusion of the first round, the team decides to consider one of these hybrid offensive linemen, who may need to kick inside to guard, if there is a run on true tackles to begin this selection.
