A closer look at the Green Bay Packers 2024 draft picks.

The Green Bay Packers made 11 picks in the 2024 NFL draft, including first-round pick Jordan Morgan and two additional offensive linemen, three safety types, two linebackers, and a developmental quarterback prospect.

It’s time to look into the draft class and see what the Packers added to their roster during the year’s most important roster-building event.

In this post, we’ll take a deeper look at the complete draft class, including breakdowns, player profiles, scouting reports from The Athletic’s Dane Brugler, and comments from the Packers on all 11 picks in 2024:

Breakdown: 37-game starter at left tackle and two-time All-Pac 12 selection. He lacks the necessary arm length for an offensive lineman (under 33 inches), but he is an excellent athlete overall. Wide, well-built frame with large hands. Two-time team captain.

The Packers believe he has the athleticism, strength, and intellect to play both offensive tackle and guard. Expect to be given a chance at left tackle, but he could also contend for the starting position at right guard immediately.

Brugler’s scouting report: Morgan, a four-year starter at Arizona, was a consistent left tackle in offensive coordinator Brennan Carroll’s zone-based scheme.

Morgan helped lead Arizona’s turnaround in 2023, after the team won only five games in his first three seasons on campus. Morgan, a quick-footed blocker, has range and tenacity in the run game and can swiftly get on top of rushers in his jump sets with well-timed hands.

His troubles in pass protection occur when he is overly aggressive with his kickslide and travels too far up the arc, creating a two-way run for rushers and opening the door for inside counters.

Overall, Morgan struggles to anchor mid-slide vs power, but he is a well-trained and physically fit mover in all phases. Though he can survive at tackle in the NFL, his skill set projects far better inside as a guard, akin to Matthew Bergeron.

They stated, Big man, left tackle, great athlete, can play in space. We are able to play all four spots. He has primarily played left tackle, but we believe he can slide inside to guard. He possesses strength in his lower body and can move individuals on the spot. He’s simply wired like a Packer. Two-time team captain. A truly good guy. Bryan Gutekunst
