Quarterback Jordan Love of the Green Bay Packers announced his resignation.

Though the quarterback for the Green Bay Packers is looking for a new, long-term deal, that hasn’t stopped Jordan Love from taking part in optional offseason team activities.
“Well, it’s just what I’ve always done,” Love remarked on Tuesday, according to ESPN. “I mean, it’s just that I try to be here, get the reps in, work with the guys, and just start developing that chemistry and getting ready for the season.”
Love signed an extension last summer that will pay him about $11 million in 2024—a significant amount less than what a starting quarterback would typically be paid.
This season, 21 seasoned quarterbacks are expected to earn more money than Love. The desire to finalize a new deal that better fits Love’s future as the franchise’s face is acknowledged by all parties.
Love expressed a desire to completely immerse himself in the offseason program, and the quarterback’s participation in OTAs is a positive indication of improvement.
In the event that no new agreement is reached in the upcoming months, everything might potentially change.
Love’s presence was attributed by head coach Matt LaFleur to nearly faultless attendance at voluntary sessions.
Regarding Love attending workouts, LaFleur remarked, “Oh, it’s everything to us.” “We’ve had nearly 100% attendance this summer, which has been the greatest since I’ve been here. I know we had one player absent today due to a personal problem.
“And I always believe that when you look across the league, it just naturally draws everyone in when your quarterback is there. These lads want to work hard since we’re still a young football team.
Many of the guys in our group like both the game and the grind of working through challenging situations with one another. However, it is impossible to place a value on having him here.”
By negotiating a new contract with Love, the Packers may place a value on his future performance. Green Bay would do well to finalize a contract right away.
It merely gets more expensive the longer they wait, as with all QB agreements, provided that love develops as predicted.
