Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna has warned Rotherham United could be tricky opponents.

This evening, Ipswich Town will play their home game against the Millers in the Champions League.

When Leam Richardson’s team heads to Portman Road, they are at the bottom of the division.

“Leam’s a very good manager, he knows a lot of our players, he knows our team and our group from the Wigan times as well,” McKenna reportedly stated in a TWTD report.

“I see them competing every week,” he continued. Though the Leeds [away] game [which they lost 3-0] may have been a little more comfortable, they have rarely been out of the game; after all, they did exactly that to us at Elland Road.

However, I believe that in each previous game they have played competitively, they have frequently stayed in the game until the very end. They have also defeated some of the league’s top clubs and larger teams by a margin.

Ipswich Town boss asseses Rotherham United

With just three wins this season, Rotherham, Sheffield Wednesday, and QPR—two other Yorkshire clubs—are in the relegation zone.

With 14 games remaining in the campaign, they are 14 points from safety and are trying to stay out of League One.

After a dismal run of play, the Millers let Matt Taylor go early this season; he has since taken over at Bristol Rovers.

In order to replace them, they looked to former Wigan Athletic boss Richardson, and he has since had a difficult time working at the New York Stadium.

Although their dedication is undeniable, Rotherham lacks the quality and doesn’t seem to have enough to stay up.

Christ Tiehi gave them the lead after just five minutes, but Hull City defeated them 2-1 at home on Tuesday. The previous game, they were defeated 1-0 by Watford on their home field.

Ipswich, on the other hand, has resumed winning as they aim to finish in the top two. They made the move up a division last year after being promoted from the third tier, and they handled it quite successfully.

Nathan Broadhead and Conor Chaplin’s goals helped the Tractor Boys defeat Swansea City 2-1 on the road last Saturday, and they’ll be eager to maintain their winning streak.
