Ipswich Town agrees £10.3m deal with Leeds for the signing of Cresswell

Just over a week into the window, there has been no shortage of interest in some of Leeds’ players. Perhaps surprisingly, Crysencio Summerville has gained a lot of Premier League admirers, including Newcastle United.

Some of Leeds’ periphery players are also sought permanently or on loan at the same time. The most recent team to enter the Joe Gelhardt race is Plymouth Argyle.

Charlie Cresswell, Gelhardt’s old U21 teammate, is in a similar situation after playing just one minute of football since the Carabao Cup loss at Salford City in August. There are eager Championship clubs.

The Yorkshire Evening Post, however, reports that Leeds will demand £5 million to sell the 21-year-old this month, pricing out some of his possible suitors, including Ipswich Town.

Cresswell unhappy at Leeds

This season, Cresswell has been dissatisfied with Leeds due to his lack of playing time; last week, Phil Hay hinted that an intriguing scenario might arise.

This was made much more intense by his father Richard, who mentioned on Instagram that it would be good to see Cresswell play again, just before Cresswell was left out of the team for Sunday’s match against Peterborough United.

Nevertheless, it was reported last month that Farke had informed players like Gelhardt and Cresswell that they would have to remain for the duration of the season.Nevertheless, following the victory over Birmingham City on New Year’s Day, he appeared to soften that position.

Leeds won’t let him go for a cheap price because Cresswell only recently agreed to a new contract in the summer. Since he attended the academy, he would also stand for unadulterated profit in terms of Leeds’ sustainability and profit.

As a result, an asking price of between £4 million and £5 million has been established; nevertheless, this may rule out a deal for the three interested parties, Ipswich, Middlesbrough, and Blackburn Rovers.
