Jade Cargill has been missing in action from WWE since November, but she has now broken her silence. To the bewilderment of fans (and further stoking the rumors), she wordlessly posted a picture of herself with a bloody face to various social media.
This image is Cargill’s first post on social media since November 22. The same day, Cargill was injured by a mystery assailant, leaving the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship in a state of uncertainty.
On that day’s episode of SmackDown, Cargill was attacked by an unknown assailant and found injured on top of a car. Upon seeing her partner in distress on the big screen, Bianca Belair immediately rushed backstage, choosing to forfeit her chance to become the first-ever Women’s United States Champion in order to support Cargill.
It has been speculated that the attack was an angle to cover a legitimate injury, similar to Rhea Ripley being attacked by Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez to cover an actual fracture and (likely) Cody Rhodes receiving a “spinal injury” from Kevin Owens after Saturday Night’s Main Event.
PWMania’s Dave Meltzer said “I got a pretty detailed description from someone high on the food chain of what happened and they said that she is absolutely injured and seeing WWE doctors for it and other medical professionals for it. Nobody seems to understand why the other story of what they ‘know’ is going around.”
However, it has been reported that Cargill’s absence is simply part of an ongoing WWE storyline, although it is unclear why no one has taken credit for the attack (as would be expected) if that is the case.
“I’ve said this all along. Jade Cargill and Bianca do not get along,” Russo speculated. “And I’ve been saying that all along behind the scenes. This is why this storyline is going on, and they’re gonna go their separate ways.”
Regardless of the actual reasons for her absence and silence, this picture just makes things more confusing. It may mean answers are coming soon, but for now, it just adds to the growing rumors.
