Jannik Sinner rallies to beat Daniil Medvedev in Australian Open final

Although Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz get along well, the Italian disclosed that they don’t talk much outside of the courtroom.

Professional players rarely see rivals interacting closely off the court; maybe this is only because of Roger Federer‘s talkative demeanor. Even using Novak Djokovic as an example, he doesn’t keep in touch with Rafael Nadal or Roger Federer very often off the court.

There’s a fascinating dynamic in the world of rivalries between Nadal and Federer. The rivalry between Sinner and Alcaraz is one of the most exciting in brewing.

It was good to see them practicing together in Spain prior to this season. The Italian claims they don’t talk much outside of the courts, but they always have nothing but the nicest things to say about one another.

“He’s an incredible player and usually when we play it’s a very good match up. We both try our best on the court. We have a lot of respect for each other. Off the court we don’t speak that much because he has his own things and I have my things, but on the court he’s a player who can show so many things on the court.”

No one should be too surprised by it, considering neither Sinner nor Alcaraz are very domineering characters. Sinner is a quiet individual who doesn’t really make an impression on others.

The Spaniard, on the other hand, communicates primarily with a smile but has a slightly more powerful attitude. There is respect, and the connection will only become stronger from there.

It might also go the other way, particularly if they continue to outscore each other as they have thus far. But one thing is certain: during the next ten years, this rivalry will propel the sport forward.
