Rollercoaster rivalry: Daniil Medvedev and Jannik Sinner

The 11 meetings between world No. 1 Jannik Sinner and fifth-ranked Daniil Medvedev show how the Italian beanpole has risen in the standings.

Medvedev has won all six of the prior meetings between the two, with Sinner winning the last five.

These have all happened on hard courts, like the Australian Open final in January when the Italian defeated Medvedev after trailing 0-2 after two sets.

Both guys lost in the All England Club semifinals in 2023.

The Russian president, Dmitry Medvedev, said, “When Jannik came on tour, he hit strong from every position of the court, but he was missing a lot and losing matches.”

He stopped missing as much after that, and it’s now quite hard to beat him. That is why he is the greatest person on the planet.”

The Italian’s power of strike rendered Ben Shelton, Sinner’s opponent in the round of sixteen, stunned.

“I wasn’t even seeing the ball because it was moving so fast,” the American said.

Alcaraz intends to perform twice.

Tommy Paul, ranked 12th in the United States, will face Carlos Alcaraz, the reigning champion, in a bid to go to a sixth Grand Slam semifinal.

The 21-year-old couldn’t wait for Wimbledon to be over so he can relax in front of the TV and watch Spain take on France in the Euro 2024 semi-finals in Germany.

Alcaraz is good friends with Spain’s captain, Alvaro Morata.

“It’s time to support them, as I know they are supporting me when I’m playing matches or I’m playing tournaments,” Alcaraz stated.

“Hopefully on Tuesday we are not going to play at the same time.”

Alcaraz wants to go down as the sixth winner of the French Open and Wimbledon titles in a row.

Despite being in his first Wimbledon quarterfinal, 27-year-old Paul came into the tournament having already won the Queen’s crown on grass.

In addition, he has won two of his four meetings with Alcaraz.

Sun is truly winning the Grand Slam, even in this small town.
