Indian Wells Live: Sinner leads proceedings, following…

Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz’s high-profile match in Indian Wells on Saturday night appears to be under the sun of Tennis Paradise, California. Due to a rain delay, both players had to leave the field as soon as the match started.

After just 14 minutes of play, Sinner had taken the lead 2-1. In a touching moment, he shared his umbrella with a ball girl and struck up a conversation with her as the rain started to fall. In the end, they appeared to be returning to the road, as they briefly returned to the court.

But as the rain got heavier, there was a slight knock between them, and they had to trudge off again. Rain also affected Maria Sakkari last night during the event, forcing the Greek, who was about to win, to leave for a long rain delay.

Sinner isn’t quite lost in the tie yet, though. However, they found themselves back in the locker room, prepared for the storm to pass and the game to resume, thirty minutes after the previous point. Dangerous for Paul and Medvedev, who must follow later tonight if this doesn’t end quickly.
