With 18 wins in 21 matches, a semifinal appearance at the Dubai Tennis Championships, and runner-up performances at the Australian Open and Indian Wells Open, Medvedev, also referred to as the “Iceman,” is off to an outstanding start to the season. He easily made it past the first round of the Miami Open 2024 and into the final four.

The Russian easily defeated Marton Fucsovics and Cameron Norrie to go to the semifinals. He also showed off his expertise against Nicolas Jarry and Dominik Koepfer, defeating Jarry 6-2, 7-6 (7) in a thrilling quarterfinal match. To date, the Russian has not lost a set at the Miami Open 2024.

With an astounding 20 wins and just one loss this year, world No. 3 Jannik Sinner has been in incredible form. In both the Australian Open 2024 and the Rotterdam Open, the Italian placed third. His lone defeat came at the hands of world No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz in the semifinals of the Indian Wells Open in 2024.

He continued his impressive form in the Miami Open 2024, defeating Andrea Vavassori and Tallon Griekspoor in the initial rounds. He then got past effortlessly against Christopher O Connell 6-4, 6-3 in the fourth round, and Tomas Machac 6-4, 6-2 in the quarters to enter the semifinals of Miami Open 2024.

The “Marathon Man,” Daniil Medvedev, defeated Nicolas Jarry 6-2, 7-6(7), scoring 70 points to Jarry’s 30 victories and 57 points. Medvedev accumulated 36 winners. While committing three double faults and firing six aces, Medvedev managed to convert 50% of his break points (2/4), keeping a strong win ratio of 80% on first serves and 58% on second.

In the previous game, his remarkable awareness, foresight, and quick decision-making enhanced his hard-charging all-around style. In the second set, he overcame Jarry by maintaining his composure, moving him into the final four.

In contrast to Machac’s 24 winners and 52 points, he blasted 23 winners to collect 70 points.

Sinner converted 36% of his break points (4/11) despite finishing with three aces and two double faults. He maintained an effective win percentage of 77% on first serves and 65% on second serves.
