Andy Roddick: Jannik Sinner appeared childlike three years ago, but he moves and behaves like an adult now.

Since losing in the round of 16 at the US Open the previous year, Sinner has been playing well. He was the runner-up to Novak Djokovic at the ATP Finals and had victories in Beijing and Vienna. He also assisted Italy in winning the Davis Cup for the first time since 1976.

The 22-year-old has continued to play well into 2024; just last month, he captured his first Grand Slam championship at the Australian Open. He participated in the Rotterdam Open most recently, where he won the championship with just one set lost (against Gael Monfils in the Round of 16).


According to former World No. 1 Andy Roddick, Sinner appeared to be having a great time on the court and wasn’t concerned about winning or losing.He doesn’t seem to be thinking about winning or losing at this point. It’s evident why we attend competitions, but he seems content to simply play fantastic points.

He stated, I’m going to play fantastic points, and after 90 or two hours, that’s been working really well, on the most recent episode of the Served with Andy Roddick podcast (05:30).

The American went on to say that Sinner is now displaying maturity, something that had been lacking a few years prior. He complimented the Italian’s level of fitness as well.I mean, fitness is important, right? Know where your legs are when it comes to competing in an event such as Rotterdam.

He claimed that Monfils and [Alex] de Minaur, two players that force you to play lengthy rallies, are the reason he is playing long rallies inside.He said, You know, three years ago, your body looked like a youngster; he was a kid, and now he’s moving and acting like a grown-up on the court when you are confident that your body.
