Chiefs Emergency: Kansas City’s Season Is in Danger Due to a Serious Preseason Injury
Hollywood Brown, a wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs, was expected to play a significant role in the offense this season. However, a catastrophic injury sustained during a preseason game has now raised questions about Brown’s availability and health for the next campaign.
Adam Schefter of ESPN NFL Insiders reported that Brown dislocated his sternoclavicular joint during the preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Brown had to be transported to the hospital right away due to the severity of his injuries, and it is now unclear if he will be available for the regular season.
“As far as the injuries go, Hollywood Brown has that same thing that Tyreek had down here, actually,” stated Reid.
“Sternoclavicular post dislocation. They’ve taken him to the hospital. They’ll check him out, and they’re working on that as we speak.
“I think he’ll miss some time. We’ll just see where it’s at. We’re kind of going through it right now. We’ll know more later on here.”
What is a dislocation of the sternoclavicular joint?
A dislocation of the sternoclavicular joint, which affects the region where the sternum and collarbone connect, is a serious injury. Depending on how severe it is, breathing problems may result, and it is a medical emergency that needs to be treated right away.
In order to treat this kind of injury, the shoulder is usually immobilized with a sling, which may need to be worn for a few weeks or perhaps a month. The emphasis currently is on protecting Brown’s immediate health and safety, as the precise timetable for his recovery is yet unknown.
The Chiefs will need to monitor Brown’s condition closely as they prepare for the regular season. His recovery will be prioritized over his return to play, and it remains to be seen how this injury will impact his role with the team this year.
