Following her divorce from spouse Darren Waller, Kelsey Plum is prepared to move past a trying offseason and devote all of her attention to basketball for the Las Vegas Aces.
After a year of marriage, the 29-year-old Plum and Waller, the tight end for the New York Giants, startled fans by declaring their separation at the end of April.
Plum discussed her struggles off the court in an interview with KWU-TV.
“It’s been difficult for me,” she remarked. It’s quite public, as everyone knows, but I’m really appreciative of it.
“I believe that my faith has greatly increased.” Furthermore, I am aware of who I am, and as they say, “fire refines you.”
Plum expressed her shock about the breakup on social media, writing, “I’m sad.” I saw it was time to go, yet I walked through fire for that man.
God has blessed me with a wonderful life, and I am incredibly appreciative of my family’s and friends’ unwavering affection. I’ll tell my story sometime, but not now.
“I am grateful for the ability to accept my suffering, forgive, and move on.” I’m going to choose joy now and every day. With much love, KP
Waller, who is currently the NFL’s second-highest-paid tight end behind Travis Kelce, has not commented on the breakdown of his marriage.
Records from the period indicate that a joint divorce petition was submitted in April, according to reports.
Next Tuesday, Plum will kick off her new season with the Aces against the Phoenix Mercury, highlighting her eagerness to return to her passion.
The first choice in the 2017 WNBA Draft, Plum, told KWU-TV, “I’m excited about this season, I’m excited about Las Vegas, try to run it back again.”
“I know that this company and our supporters are behind us, that our squad is together as never before, and that we truly represent the Aces vs. everybody.”
