Lakers News: LeBron James Trade Pitch from East Contender Rob Pelinka Was…

When the NBA trade deadline passed and the Los Angeles Lakers chose to stick with their current roster, it surprised a lot of people.

Almost entirely. Through the buyout market, the front office did add guard Spencer Dinwiddie, but it was the only addition.

By the deadline, many anticipated that Los Angeles would be a major buyer, but nothing materialized. There have been discussions, though, that the Lakers ought to trade their premier player, LeBron James. Daryl Morey, the president of basketball operations for the Philadelphia 76ers, continued to inquire about trading James, despite the fact that it gained little to no traction.

Morey inquired about James’s trade, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Ramona Shelburne. Rob Pelinka, general manager of the Lakers, had the ideal reply for Morey.

A week prior to the trade deadline, James posted a mysterious picture of an hourglass on social media. When Daryl Morey, the president of basketball operations for the Philadelphia 76ers, approached Pelinka to inquire about a deal involving James, he was informed right away that James was not available. According to reports, Pelinka really asked Morey if Joel Embiid was available. And so did that little exchange of words.

All of me for a little Pelinka!

The purple and gold have no intention of influencing James’ desire to retire as a Laker. The Lakers would only deal James if they were to receive a superstar in exchange. Pelinka gave the ideal reaction.

As usual, James has taken a passive-aggressive approach to improving his team. We have seen him criticize his current squad before, and this is not the first time he has done so with this mysterious post.

The 39-year-old player comes with that, and the Lakers wouldn’t have it any other way. Though Joel Embiid, the premier player for the 76ers, would be a terrific addition to the club, I’ll take James any day.

It appears that L.A. will stick with the four-time winner till the end. He’s still that person.
