Gardner Minshew, the recently signed quarterback, is followed by head coach Antonio Pierce of Las Vegas, who sobs over the drama.
Raiders Coach Pierce Is Particular About QB
Both head coach Antonio Pierce and the starting quarterback for the Las Vegas Raiders intend to stay there for a very long time.
The Las Vegas Raiders had a long-term quarterback in Derek Carr, but now that they have a new head coach, they are looking for that consistency once more.
The Raiders need to establish a winning culture as soon as possible; they can’t afford to keep throwing the ball and missing at quarterback. They are, in fact, sick of losing to the playoffs.
The signing of veteran Jimmy Garoppolo and subsequent dismissal from the starting lineup midway through the 2023 season dealt a serious blow to Las Vegas, which had spent a significant amount of the summer trying to locate a new quarterback for the team.
The Raiders’ coach, Antonio Pierce, does not want the quarterback flip to become the standard.
“I would hope that whichever we choose, that’s the route we go—that’s who the starter becomes,” Pierce said on February 28 at the NFL Combine.
Again, let me reiterate: if Aidan O’Connell or anyone else we draft or bring in is involved, you don’t want to treat the problem with a band-aid solution. That’s old, man—truly old.
I believe that we have seen enough of the Raiders in this organization. There were a number of one-stop shops, even though Derek Carr had been here for a long time. Besides, I don’t think any company would want that.
“Someone you can rely on for the next ten years—your quarterback should be the face of your team.”
Pierce wants to turn around a lot of negative trends while he’s in charge, but this one will be critical to Las Vegas’s goals.
The NFL Draft is slated to take place in Detroit, Michigan, on April 25–27, 2024. At the moment, the Las Vegas Raiders own the 13th overall pick.
