SAD NEWS: Raiders’ Veteran Safety Marcus Epps is gone… read more

The Las Vegas Raiders not only lost to the Carolina Panthers this weekend, but they also lost one of their more important players. The game was terrible, on all fronts. The offence was bad, and surprisingly, the defence was bad. And, losing veteran safety Marcus Epps doesn’t help going forward.

On a play that saw players on both teams take a knee, and the Raiders come over and wish him well, Epps tore his ACL. The vocal safety was the leader of the secondary and a player that they will greatly miss for the rest of the season. Isaiah Palo-Mao will be the safety replacing Epps for the foreseeable future.

On Tuesday, the Raiders officially placed Epps on the IR, as the 2025 free agent will potentially look to make his comeback with the Raiders next season if the two sides can come to terms on a deal that will likely be cheaper now than it was two years ago with Dave Ziegler as the general manager.

With that move, the Raiders made a corresponding move since a roster spot was then opened up. According to the Raiders PR team, the team is signing practice squad cornerback Sam Webb to the active roster.

Webb has been the one practice squad elevation every single week on gameday, so, this was something you could kind of see coming. Expect to see either safety Phalen Sanford or cornerback M.J. Devonshire get elevated on game day against the Cleveland Browns.
