Shocking!: ‘We are not the best of friends.’ -Raiders’ Antonio Pierce Likes IG Video Reporting Davante Adams Trade Rumours following their…

Antonio Pierce may have tipped his hand about his opinion on wide receiver Davante Adams.

The Las Vegas Raiders head coach liked an Instagram post in which Sports Illustrated‘s Michael Fabiano reported that Adams may have “already played his last snap with the Raiders.”

Pierce has since removed his like on the post, but his interaction could show that Fabiano’s report is accurate and that the six-time Pro Bowler could be on his way out of Las Vegas.

Fabiano reported that the Raiders may be holding him out to complete a trade and that he could have numerous suitors, with the New York Jets being a notable target.

“Some of my little birds out there are suggesting to me that there is a chance that he doesn’t play another down for the Raiders,” Fabiano said. “(My sources say that) he could have played yesterday but the Raiders are looking to deal him because they know that they could get some value for him and they know they are going nowhere this year.”

Adams did not play in Week 4 after “pulling up lame” in Thursday’s practice, per Adam Schefter of ESPN. He is considered “week-to-week” with the injury.

Fabiano’s report shows that the injury may not be super severe but that the team wants to make sure his healthy so a trade could go through. While Pierce liking the post could be an accident, it definitely could be a sign that this move will occur very soon.

Adams has made 18 catches for 209 yards and one touchdown in 2024. He is under contract through 2026, although there is an “out” in his contract following the 2024 season.

With this in mind, he could simply be a midseason rental for a contending team and that franchise would not need to bring him back. However, the team could choose to keep him around if he excels, so it could be an intriguing situation.

The 2024 NFL Trade Deadline is Nov. 4. If Adams were to be dealt, it would need to be prior to that date.
