Las Vegas Raiders’ Maxx Crosby Took Big Offseason Surgery
One of the few bright lights in the otherwise disappointing Las Vegas Raiders season is Maxx Crosby. After having a stellar year with the team, he is regarded as one of the best pass rushers in the league.
Maxx Crosby (98) of the Las Vegas Raiders, a defensive end, scores a touchdown against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field on October 22, 2023, in Chicago, Illinois, USA.
He could have done better, though, if he hadn’t been tending to a persistent injury that had hampered his play all season. He seized the chance presented by an extended offseason to deal with the problem right away.
Maxx Crosby had surgery for his hand injury.
The Raiders’ leading pass rusher, Kameron Duncan of The Spun, disclosed that he had a hectic summer already, having had two surgeries to address physical issues:
Crosby had surgery on his knee once already this month, and on Wednesday he had another procedure.
The three-time Pro Bowl pick underwent hand surgery to fix a different injury he sustained while competing in 2023.
Crosby participated in every one of the Raiders’ 17 games in spite of the two injuries. Along with T.J. Watt, DaRon Bland, and Myles Garrett, he was a nominee for the NFL’s Defensive Play of the Year award due to his outstanding play.
On October 30, 2023, in Detroit, Michigan, USA, Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby (98) watches for a call from the referee regarding a fumble recovery close to the goal line during the third quarter at Ford Field versus the Detroit Lions.
This season, Crosby’s stats are nothing to laugh at. In addition to 14.5 sacks, he also had a league-high 23 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and 55 solo stops at the end of the season. It would be an understatement to suggest that he is carrying the Raiders offense entirely on his own during what has been a disappointing 8–9 season.
Crosby is eager to get started under head coach Pierce with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Apart from healing, Crosby was very outspoken about coaching. Following Antonio Pierce’s appointment as the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders, Crosby used social media to share his enthusiasm for the forthcoming campaign:
After Josh McDaniel was fired midway through the season, Pierce had to take over, and the Las Vegas Raiders were an encouraging 5-4.The team’s Christmas Day victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, which they won 20-14, stands out in particular.
Crosby will be leading the Raiders in upending the AFC West’s hegemony, and things are looking up for the squad that plays in Sin City.
