If Leeds United doesn’t get promoted, they will receive a ton of proposals for Archie Gray this summer, insiders have told Football Insider.
The 17-year-old is a target for the Whites, according to transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke, who made this revelation while speaking with Football Insider’s Insider Track Podcast.
Several Premier League teams were interested in Gray during the January transfer window; Football Insider reported on November 24 that Liverpool, Everton, and Crystal Palace were among the teams considering a deal.
If Daniel Farke’s team doesn’t win the Premier League again, though, the public’s interest in the teenager should pick back up toward the end of the campaign.
Liverpool is thought to be one of the teams that is still quite interested.
In the season’s opening championship game, he made his senior debut for the team he grew up on. Since then, he has started 28 league games.
In Leeds’ pursuit of promotion, Gray—who has appeared at right back, defensive midfield, central midfield, and attacking midfield this season—is viewed as essential.
With seven straight league victories and automatic promotion, the Whites are serious candidates to make a quick return to the top this season.
Following their 4-0 victory over Swansea City on Tuesday, February 13, Leeds is now ranked second in the Championship table; however, third-place Southampton still has a game in hand.
Their next game is scheduled for Saturday afternoon, February 17, away against Plymouth Argyle.
In other Leeds United news, a senior man is set to receive a huge new contract.
