LPGA player Lexi Thompson said that she played one of her greatest rounds ever on Saturday, feeling as though a “weight lifted off.”
Since joining the LPGA full-time in 2014, Lexi Thompson has won 15 professional tournaments, including the 2014 Kraft Nabisco Championship, a major.
However, Thompson claimed that golf was the most enjoyable game ever on Saturday at the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give at Blythefield Country Club in Belmont, Michigan, after shooting a 65 to pull within striking distance of the leaders.
It’s undoubtedly at that level. Thompson won the Navistar LPGA Classic in 2011 at the age of 16, making her the youngest LPGA champion even though she is still eight months away from becoming thirty. After declaring her impending retirement, she acknowledged that she is playing under less pressure.
I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders since I’ve been thinking about it for a while. I really look forward to every time I tee it up since there is still a lot of golf left in the year, especially if we get crowds like this one every week, the woman said. Nothing compares to it. The game is made by the fans. I have thus enjoyed every minute of coming here each and every year. Although it is somewhat relieving, I still want to end the year strongly.
