Jurgen Klopp Laments Mo Salah  Miss as Player is set to miss Arsenal Clash

Throughout the first part of the season, Mo Salah has been the best player in the Premier League.

In 19 Premier League games for Liverpool, the 31-year-old has scored 12 goals, provided seven assists, and scored three goals in the Europa League.

Liverpool has risen to the top of the Premier League table thanks in large part to Salah.

If Jurgen Klopp wants to hold onto that position in the upcoming weeks, he will need to figure out a winning formula without his top player.

Salah will play Monday night for the Reds against Newcastle, but that will be his last club match for at least a month.

Salah will not play in Liverpool’s FA Cup third round match against Arsenal on January 7, the club announced on Friday.

In January, Mo Salah will depart for the Ivory Coast in order to represent Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations.

The announcement said as follows: “After Liverpool’s match against Newcastle United, Mohamed Salah will join Egypt for the Africa Cup of Nations.”

“On Monday night, the Reds welcome the Magpies at Anfield in their first match of 2024. Salah is eligible to play in that match before traveling to the Ivory Coast to represent his country in the most recent AFCON competition.”

Salah might only miss four Liverpool matches if Egypt fails to advance past the group stage: the FA Cup match against Arsenal, the EPL trip to Bournemouth, and both legs of the Carabao Cup semi-final against Fulham.

Nonetheless, Egypt is anticipated to advance far because they made it to the AFCON 2021 final.

The 2024 edition of AFCON 2023 will conclude on February 11, one day following the third-place playoff.

If Egypt reach the semi-finals then Salah will not be able to make his Liverpool return until February 17 when Klopp’s side visit Brentford.

In such a scenario, Salah would miss an extra three Premier League games – against Chelsea, Arsenal and Burnley – plus the FA Cup fourth round should Liverpool get that far.
