After falling in the opening round, the Los Angeles Clippers and Lakers are no longer in the playoffs. Although there are concerns about both teams’ futures, Ty Lue, the head coach of the Clippers, is the main link between them.
The Lakers’ decision to fire Darvin Ham suggests that Lue might be heading to the purple and gold. As the postseason went on, LeBron James and the Lakers became increasingly dependent on James’ former head coach in their hunt for a new leader.
Lue would also be among, if not the most sought-after coach available, if he were to leave the Clippers and they were unable to come to an agreement on a contract extension.

Lue made it obvious where he wants to go when asked about his future after the Clippers’ Game 6 loss to the Mavs.
“I came here with no intention of aimlessly wandering around… This is my ideal location. I hope to stay here for a very long time,” Lue stated on NBATV on X.

“I didn’t come in to go all over the place and bounce around,” Lue said. “I’ve had nothing but kindness from everyone. only appreciating the fantastic working relationship that I have with the owner and the front office. It’s really good. I want to spend a lot of time here.
ESPN reported that the Clippers are thinking about giving Lue, who has two years remaining on his contract, an extension, citing anonymous sources.
