Los Angeles Rams
NFL
After shocking the football fans with the announcement of his retirement, the former Rams star has now opened up about his reasons for calling it quits.
It’s difficult to look at Aaron Donald‘s career without drawing comparisons to Barry Sanders.Ultimately, these two players are the only two in NFL history to have participated in at least ten seasons and been selected to the Pro Bowl each of those seasons. Furthermore, at the height of their respective powers, both men finished their separate careers. However, the query is still open.: Why?
Aaron Donald answers THE question
If you read our recent story about the aforementioned legend Barry Sanders, you probably already know that the Hall of Famer decided to retire at the age of thirty after ten seasons in the league, primarily due to a lack of passion for the game. NFL. Indeed, it is yet another example of how the careers of Sanders and Donald have mirrored each other.Naturally, Donald has lived in Los Angeles for ten seasons, but from what he tells me, there isn’t much of a difference in his logic from Sanders’.
“I’m finished. In his first interview following his retirement, Donald stated, “I’m full.” “I believe that my enthusiasm for the game has faded.Although I will always be a football fan, I find it difficult to imagine going through training and playing another 17-game season. I simply don’t feel the need to push myself to accomplish it anymore. In fact, I’m exhausted. I guess the best way to put it is, I’m full. I am finished. I’m happy with my ten years of accomplishments. At thirty-two, I believe it’s time for me to move on to the next phase of my life and career and retire from football. Time to move on, please.
Donald went on to further emphasize that he had accomplished everything and that there was nothing more for him to do. He remarked, “Ten years, ten Pro Bowls.” “We had two NFC championships, three NFC West championships, eight All-Pros, three Defensive Player of the Years, Defensive Rookie of the Year, two trips to the Super Bowl, one win, one loss.”And with that, a career that few others in the game can truly compare to in terms of finishing first in the competition comes to an end.
