Tanner Brown and Christopher Dunn—both undrafted rookies—competed in kicking last summer for the Rams. Though he didn’t begin the season as the Rams’ kicker, Brown prevailed in the fight.

Before Week 1, the Rams waived him, and Brett Maher was signed by the team in his place. Brown will get another opportunity this offseason, but he was never given another chance with the Rams. Brown’s spot on the 90-man roster has been reserved by the team, which announced on Thursday that it had signed him to a reserve/futures deal.

Although Brown was extremely precise in college, going 22 out of 23 on field goals at Oklahoma State in 2022, he has not yet kicked in an NFL regular season game.

Given that Maher will be a free agent and the Rams don’t have another kicker on the roster, he may receive another opportunity to fight for the starting kicker position this season.
