The future of Matthew Stafford was one of the most talked-about subjects surrounding the Los Angeles Rams the previous season. With his lucrative contract and a season marred by injuries in 2022, many are wondering if the Rams will cut ways with their primary quarterback.

Although they never changed his contract, Stafford acknowledged the organisation had contacted him about modifying it to aid in their financial situation. There had been speculations regarding their attempts to trade him.

There are no longer any questions regarding Stafford’s future as the Rams’ starting quarterback after an outstanding 2023 campaign. Stafford stated on Sunday that he intends to return in 2024, so there won’t be any trade rumours, contract discussions, or retirement concerns.

On Wednesday, McVay reiterated that Stafford is their man going forward.

“Without a doubt, at all. Definitely, without a doubt. Yes, I do comprehend the question completely. However, that would be a surefire method to inflame me. No, we’re all set to leave. He is eager to lead us the following year and is fully prepared to go.

After only throwing for 2,087 yards in nine games in 2022, Stafford amassed 3,965 yards this season with 24 touchdown passes and 11 interceptions in 15 games.

In the Rams’ playoff loss against the Lions, he had his best game of the year, throwing for 367 yards and two touchdowns while picking up no interceptions. He will turn 36 in February, but he hasn’t showed any symptoms of slowing down. As a starting quarterback, he can make all the throws required.

Stafford will lead the Rams back to the Super Bowl in 2024, when they have a more seasoned team and a tonne of offseason assets.
