During this hiring cycle, other teams are showing interest in more than simply Raheem Morris. The New Orleans Saints, who are searching for a new offensive coordinator after firing Pete Carmichael on Tuesday, have expressed interest in hiring Zac Robinson, the quarterbacks coach and pass game coordinator for the Rams.
Robinson’s interview request for the Saints’ open post has been granted, according to Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football.
In 2019, Robinson began his coaching career when he was hired by the Rams to serve as their assistant quarterbacks coach. After aiding in the coaching of the wide receivers in 2020, he returned to his position as an assistant quarterbacks coach in 2021 and assumed the position of head coach of the quarterbacks in 2022, also tasked with overseeing the pass game.
The Patriots selected Robinson, a 37-year-old former NFL quarterback, in the seventh round of the 2010 draft. Despite playing in the NFL for four years, he was waived prior to the 2014 season.
After receiving requests for interviews for offensive coordinator positions from the Chargers and Ravens the previous season, Robinson is considered one of the best contenders for offensive coordinator available this summer.
Between his tenure as a player and coach, Robinson worked as a senior analyst for Pro Football Focus.
