The Rams’ Tyler Higbee, a tight end, has announced his retirement from the team due to……….

Last season, the Los Angeles Rams lost badly to the Detroit Lions in the playoffs, and they also lost their best tight end, Tyler Higbee, to an ACL tear.

It was also anticipated that Higbee would miss at least some of the upcoming season while he recovers due to the timing of such a major injury.

The Rams head coach, Sean McVay, has now provided reporters at the NFL Owners Meetings with clarification regarding the situation with his top tight end, Higbee. He stated that Higbee is anticipated to be placed on the PUP list when training camp begins

in July.

With this designation, Higbee might still play in Week 1, although it is unlikely considering the nature and timing of the injury.

The entire rehabilitation from an ACL injury usually takes six to nine months following surgery, according to the Cleveland Clinic. The injury to Higbee happened on January 14.

Luckily for Los Angeles, second-year tight end Davis Allen, who had a fantastic season finale, gives them plenty of depth at the tight end position. With two catches for 28 yards in the playoff defeat to Detroit, Allen concluded his rookie season with 10 receptions for 95 yards and a touchdown in the regular season. It took Allen until November 26 to make his first catch.

Colby Parkinson, a former tight end for the Seahawks who is entering his fifth NFL season, was also signed by the Rams. Parkinson played in 54 games with four starts during his four-year Seattle tenure. He also had 57 catches on 78 targets for 618 yards and four touchdowns.
