The Miami Dolphins placed second-year defensive tackle Robert Cooper on the roster on Wednesday, taking Teair Tart’s place on the defensive line, one day after Tart was cut.

Cooper, 24, a graduate of Florida State, signed as an undrafted free agent in 2023 and attended both the Seahawks’ and the Philadelphia Eagles’ rookie training camp.

Cooper was a 2022 All-ACC Honourable Mention and concluded his Seminoles career with 12.5 tackles for loss and two sacks before participating in two NFL camps.

After letting Christian Wilkins and Raekwon Davis go in free agency, the Dolphins signed a number of defensive lineman to one-year contracts. Newcomers Calais Campbell and Benito Jones are the listed starters for the time being, while other players vying for playing time and roster places include Jonathan Harris, Neville Gallimore, Da’Shawn Hand, and Brandon Pili.

Miami has until Tuesday, August 27, to reduce their roster to 53 players.
