Miami Heat
The Miami Heat made the move that many had expected before the trade deadline of February 8. Terry Rozier was acquired by Miami on Tuesday from the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for Kyle Lowry and a 2027 first-round lottery pick, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
After the trade, Rozier—who is enjoying the best statistical season of his NBA career—had a note for Miami upon his arrival.
“Here, I feel at home… Alright, let’s get started. I’m glad to be a part of Heat Culture. Upon the squad’s introduction on X, which is now Twitter, Rozier said, “You’re going to see what all the excitement is about.”
Rozier is ready to embrace the well-known “Heat Culture,” and fans should be quite excited about his performance this season.
The 29-year-old guard averages 23.2 points per game while shooting a career-best 45.9% from the field. Furthermore, with an average of 6.6 assists per game, 1.5 higher than the next-closest season (2022–2023), he’s enjoying one of his best passing seasons ever.
Rozier spent four seasons as a player with the Boston Celtics before signing with the Hornets. 2023–24 was his fifth season at Charlotte.
With the addition of Rozier, a playmaking point guard with offensive prowess, the Heat have even greater motivation to challenge for a return trip to the NBA Finals.
