Lennox Lewis chastises Jake Paul for canceling Mike Tyson’s show.
Prior to Paul’s matchup with Tyson, the legendary British fighter had challenged Paul to a fight. Tyson defeated Paul in their previous meeting two decades prior.
Lennox Lewis, fresh off of his contentious fight with Mike Tyson, has hinted at a fight with Jake Paul.
Tyson’s bout with heavyweight legend “Iron Mike” has been rescheduled from July 20 to November due to a flare-up of his stomach ulcer that occurred during a flight last month. Before his rescheduled fight with Tyson, the YouTuber-turned-boxer will compete against former UFC star Mike Perry next month to stay active.
In his penultimate fight of a distinguished career, Lewis defeated Tyson via knockout, and now he backs his former opponent to triumph over Paul in the cage. The 58-year-old admitted that even though he has not competed in over 20 years, he would be ready to return to the ring and take on Paul in Tyson’s shoes.
“Hopefully Tyson will save a tiny bit of Jake Paul for me. Mike Tyson is going to win. Mike Tyson is not wholly elderly. Mike Tyson is not wholly elderly. Take him seriously enough. It is one year between us. You can fight someone like that and win because the other person is not a real fighter and he is learning a lot of things that you have forgotten, Lewis said to Fox 29 Philadelphia.
“That could be a decisive factor if the fight drags on too long, but if they get close and Mike Tyson lands a ten-second combination, he will undoubtedly be knocked out by one of those punches.” In order to compete against Paul on November 15, Tyson must pass cardiac and brain scans.
Paul understands that defeating bare-knuckle boxing champion Perry could ruin his plans for his big fight with Tyson. Predicting that Perry will knock out his opponent in less than ten minutes, the influencer sparred Perry prior to his fight with Ben Askren three years ago. Paul claimed that the fight had been building for years.
“Yes, I do think Mike Perry is funny, but he has been talking shit to me for years on end. In three rounds or less, that is my official prediction for the bout. They are not able to hang with me, so I am calling it now. Over the past year, I have had new coaches and my development has been incredible, but no one has been able to see my skill.
