Damian Lillard returns to the postseason with the third-seeded Milwaukee Bucks in the Eastern Conference.

After falling 113-88 to the Orlando Magic on Sunday, Lillard and the Milwaukee Bucks finished the regular season with the third seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs.

The New York Knicks (50-32) capitalized on the Bucks’ defeat by defeating the Chicago Bulls (39-43), 120-119 in overtime, to secure the No. 2 seed.

Despite having adductor pain, the former star of the Portland Trail Blazers produced 16 points on 2 of 14 shooting against the Magic. He converted 12 of 13 free throws but was 0 of 4 from three-point range.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, an All-Star forward for the Bucks, was not available due to a lower leg ailment that has kept him out of three games. It is uncertain if he will be ready for the playoffs to begin.

Starting on April 21, the Bucks will play the No. 6-seeded Indiana Pacers (47-35) in Milwaukee.

By then, Lillard stated, he hopes to be prepared to go.

Lillard told reporters, “It won’t be flawless, but I don’t think anybody is.” “But the week will be wonderful for us just to be able to get things together, get the relaxation, and get our thoughts right.”

Lillard will be making his first postseason trip since he led the Blazers into the 2021 postseason, where they lost to the Denver Nuggets 4–2 in the opening round.

The Pacers, who have a 4-1 record against the Bucks this year, will be a formidable foe. Lillard, though, expressed his satisfaction with the matchup.

“Everyone can beat anybody in the playoffs, in my opinion, especially this season,” Lillard remarked. “I truly feel that way about it.

We are grateful for our home court. We are familiar with this squad. It is known that they enjoy playing quickly. They receive a high point total.

With 122.9 points per game, the Pacers were the NBA’s top team, and the Bucks came in fourth place with 119.4.

“We simply need to identify their areas of strength, which we are fully aware of, and eliminate as many of those advantages as possible to make the game more difficult for them,” Lillard stated.
