Breaking news: Royce Lewis of the Minnesota Twins announced his departure due to team…

June 20 – The visiting Tampa Bay Rays defeated the Minnesota Twins 3-2 on Wednesday night thanks to a throwing error by Randy Arozarena with two outs in the top of the 10th inning.
Royce Lewis, a third baseman, took a ground ball from Jonny DeLuca and threw it wide of first base. Arozarena scored from second base when Carlos Santana’s ineffective dive failed to stop the ball from rebounding into foul territory.
In order to secure the victory, Jason Adam (4-1) pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning. In the tenth, Phil Maton earned his second save by retiring Carlos Correa on a flyout to left, leaving the tying run at second base. It was Jorge Alcala (1-2) who had to bear the defeat.
Though both starters had excellent starts, they were not part of the decision. Taj Bradley of Tampa Bay gave up two runs in six innings while issuing seven hits, two walks, and three strikeouts. Joe Ryan of Minnesota pitched six innings, gave up six hits and one run while striking out five and walking one.
Before the Rays knotted the game in the seventh, Ryan appeared poised to win. After an error and an American League-high 23 steals, pinch runner Jose Caballero reached third base when Yandy Diaz hit an infield single down the third base line.
In the third quarter’s opening frame, Tampa Bay started scoring. Ryan sent Isaac Paredes a 2-1 fastball that was too much to handle. His first home run of the June season and his team-high eleventh of the year came when he hit it inside the left field foul pole.
That lead was short-lived. In its half of the third, Minnesota tied the score. Austin Martin and Willi Castro both had consecutive singles before Trevor Larnach hit into a double play, scoring Martin.
In a more traditional way, the Twins took their first lead in the fifth inning. Lewis launched a 2-2 cutter approximately 410 feet off the second deck’s wall in left, his seventh home run of the season.
