Thursday’s Twins and Tigers doubleheader is postponed; Saturday’s
The Twins and Tigers were scheduled to open the series on Thursday, but rain forced a postponement. Instead, the AL Central rivals will play a split doubleheader on Saturday to make up for Thursday’s game.
The Saturday doubleheader’s first game will tip off at 12:10 p.m. CT, and the second game will follow about 40 minutes after the first one ends.
The first pitch at 12:10 p.m. CT had little chance of happening, as Michigan is getting soaked by a deepening low pressure system that is expected to continuously pour rain in Detroit throughout the day.
Through Friday, there will be intermittent downpours in southeast Michigan. One to two inches of rain is expected, according to the National Weather Service.
It’s unclear how the Twins and Tigers will handle the beginning pitching, but if it’s just a starter of moving each starter back a day, Friday’s game between Pablo Lopez and Tarik Skubal may still go ahead.
