From talking with players and coaches there’s a consistent message that there needs to be culture changes and possible changes in players and staff.
“You say the last three years of missing the playoffs has been 9-8, 7-10, 9-8. That’s not good enough,” said Cam Jordan, the New Orleans Saints defensive end. “At minimum, it has to be a 10-win season, right?”
When asked if the player leadership in the locker room needed to change, Jordan responded that he could be the first to make some adjustments.
We really cannot claim to have excellent leadership. If we’re not in the running for the playoffs, we have the correct leaders. Yes. And it has occurred in consecutive years, according to Jordan. I must thus demand more if it begins with me, whatever that may be. Whatever it is, I have to contribute more.”
Wide receiver Chris Olave of the Saints stated, “Losing so many games and coming from Ohio State, losing one game a year or two games a year, I mean, is a standard.” We need to create a winning culture here, that’s what. They seem to have it from a few seasons ago, but they still need to work on it this offseason.
Dennis Allen, the head coach of the Saints, stated, “Our mindset needs to be different.” “I simply believe that we should reassess what it takes for us to win games at the caliber at which we must win them. We will examine every aspect of our company to see where we can make improvements. All of it will be a part of the procedure.
