BREAKING NEWS:The New York Jets announced another top player’s departure after..

Speaking with reporters on Monday, Jets general manager Joe Douglas covered a variety of topics, including Zach Wilson’s potential trade, the loss of Bryce Huff in free agency, and more.

About Bryce Huff

According to Douglas, “losing a player like Bryce is an unfortunate part of the business.” “But in the end, you can not hold onto everyone.”

Huff and the Eagles agreed to a three-year, $51.1 million contract.

Huff was linked to the Giants prior to signing with Philadelphia, and Connor Hughes of SNY reported that a return to the Jets was not “out of the question.”

Huff was only utilized in pass-rushing situations during the previous season, accounting for 42% of the Jets’ defensive snaps.

Zachery Wilson

Although there have been talks regarding Wilson with other teams, nothing is “close.”

Douglas stated, “I believe the key is doing everything that is right for the player and both teams.”

Wilson had permission from the Jets to pursue a trade late in the previous month. And not long after free agency opened, they signed Tyrod Taylor, Aaron Rodgers’ backup.

After Aaron Rodgers suffered a season-ending Achilles injury last season, Wilson was forced into action. Although he did not play well all season,

Wilson was also frequently benched and moved from a starting position.

After Tim Boyle’s injury toward the end of the season, Wilson was forced back into the starting lineup. However, during that week’s game against the Miami Dolphins, Wilson ended up with a head injury.

The writing had been on the wall regarding Wilson’s anticipated departure from New York, even before events went awry late in the previous season.

Regarding Jadeveon Clowney

Following their recent meeting, which Douglas described as “outstanding,” the Jets met with the free agent linebacker.

But as far as the possible signing of Clowney was concerned, Douglas had nothing new to report.

During his 17 games (15 starts) with the Baltimore Ravens last season, Clowney had two forced fumbles and tied his career high with 9.5 sacks.
