ESPN Shares the New York Jets’ Thoughts About Carter Warren, the Offensive Tackle

General manager Joe Douglas has a ton of options to bolster the offensive line as the New York Jets consider what to do with the 10th pick in the NFL Draft thanks to a robust class of offensive tackles.
Although Joe Alt, the Notre Dame lineman, will probably be gone by the time the Jets have to use their time, Troy Fautanu of Washington, Olu Fashanu of Penn State, and Taliese Fuaga of Oregon State are all potential candidates.
However, a tackle at number ten implies using a guy who won’t play until right tackle Morgan Moses or left tackle Tyron Smith are hurt. Furthermore, Carter Warren, a second-year lineman, would move up to the bottom of the depth chart as a result of this selection.

It’s important to remember that Warren has the potential to start in the future. It’s true that starters should be selected earlier on Day 3 than they have been in New York. However, it could be too soon to determine if Douglas missed out on the fourth-round pick in reality after just two seasons.
The 2024 season will force the Jets to either re-sign Smith and Moses or find new ones. One way to answer that question is to draft a tackle at ten. Alijah Vera-Tucker, the right guard, might switch to the other one. Warren’s window of opportunity, however, might open once more.
“Those middle-round picks are where Joe Douglas has fallen short,” Cimini stated. “Those boys are playing where? Carter Warren ought to be starting this year, but since they need to win now and are eager, they go out and acquire a Morgan Moses instead.
Though it’s difficult to hold Douglas accountable for throwing in the towel with a 40-year-old quarterback behind center, Warren is a victim of the team’s improvement. In a year, he might become well-known if the coaches are as impressed as they say they are.
