With 19 goals so far this season in the Bundesliga, Guirassy is dominating the league, and several English clubs have taken notice of his play.
Tottenham is reportedly one of the teams interested in Guirassy, and the striker is also highly regarded by Manchester United.
But Newcastle United has also reportedly “come knocking” for Guirassy ahead of the January transfer window, per Fussball Transfers.
Newcastle make their move for
Numerous Italian and English clubs are reportedly interested in Guirassy.
The Premier League’s Manchester United is once again mentioned, along with Serie A powerhouses Roma and AC Milan.
Newcastle does not have a limited budget when it comes to pay scales, but they do have to stay inside FFP limits when it comes to their total market spending.
Despite playing so well in Stuttgart and the German team wishing to keep him, Guirassy is expected to find a move in January and has a £15 million release clause.
Newcastle need signings
Although adding a new striker may not be Eddie Howe’s top priority, Newcastle needs to be active in January in order to try to overcome their recent slump.
Although both Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak are fantastic forwards, they have both struggled with injuries; for this reason, a trade for Guirassy could be beneficial.
The large striker is a real handful and is obviously enjoying a fantastic run of form. In today’s markets, he’s a steal for £15 million, so it would be worth a try.
As far as we know, Newcastle has had a lot of injuries. Therefore, signing a handful in January can provide them with the momentum they need to resume their winning ways.
