For instance, at the corner of North High Street and 9th Avenue, a piece of furniture caught fire just after midnight, prompting a swift response from Columbus firefighters who extinguished the flames promptly.
Another incident occurred at the corner of Indianola Avenue and Lane Avenue after 1 a.m., where a couch and ottoman were set on fire. Overall, public safety officials responded to seven separate couch fires that night.
