Good news: Novak Djokovic has been awarded as………

The Laureus Sportsman of the Year 2024 title has been given to Novak Djokovic.

Since he was included in the 2024 Laureus Sportsman of the Year contender with Lionel Messi, Max Verstappen, and other nominees, Novak Djokovic expressed gratitude.

In 2023, Djokovic achieved remarkable success, winning seven trophies, including three Grand Slams. This nomination follows his stellar performance. In 2023 he lost just seven games and won 56 in total.

It was an honor to be nominated for the 2024 Laureus World Sportsman of the Year award, the 24-time Grand Slam winner wrote in the caption of an Instagram photo of himself that he shared on Monday.

Along with congratulating himself, the Serbian also acknowledged his other nominees, who included racer Noah Lyles, football players Max Verstappen and Erling Haaland, pole vaulter Mondo Duplantis, and sprinter Noah Lyles.

At the Indian Wells Masters, a competition he has won five times previously, Djokovic is set to compete while he is currently in America.

He didn’t have the COVID-19 vaccination, which prevented him from participating in the competition, which was the main reason for his absence from it in 2019.

Since the start of the 2024 season, the world number one has only participated in two competitions: the Australian Open, where he advanced to the semifinals before losing to Jannik Sinner, the eventual champion, and the United Cup, where he played for Serbia but they were eliminated by Australia.

With their respective victories at the Laureus Sportsman of the Year awards, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic have dominated the tennis world for more than 20 years.

The sportsman who best exhibits exceptional athletic performance and achievement wins the honor, according to the official website of the awards.

World tennis great Roger Federer, a Swiss national, won the title a record five times before retiring in 2022. In 2008 and 2018, he reiterated his claims.

Second place goes to the Serbian, who has won the prize four times, along with Jamaican sprinter and Olympic gold medallist Usain Bolt.

In addition to receiving the honor in 2012, the former was also recognized with it in 2015, 2016, and 2019.

Two years later, in 2011 and 2021, Nadal is one of the elite sportsmen to have won the prize more than once. Alongside Lionel Messi, Michael Schumacher, and Tiger Woods, the Spaniard is tied.
