Just one week after undergoing knee surgery, Novak Djokovic resumes his workout routine.
In 2024, Novak Djokovic withdrew from the French Open after the fourth round.
Novak Djokovic recently posted a video clip on social media where the Serb can be seen working out.
With a right knee injury that flared during his fourth-round match against Argentina’s Francisco Cerundolo, Djokovic withdrew from the 2024 French Open last week, one week before his quarterfinal matchup against two-time Roland-Garros runner-up Casper Ruud.
Following additional scans, it was discovered that the tennis player from Serbia had torn his meniscus in his right knee, for which he had surgery last Wednesday in Paris. Djokovic then posted a photo of himself and his family on social media. In the past day, I had to make some tough decisions after sustaining a meniscus tear during my last match. I’m still processing it all, but I am happy to update you that the surgery went well. I am so appreciative of the team of doctors who have been by my side.
He informed his supporters about his injury and the upcoming surgery. The Serbian is reportedly expected to miss at least three weeks of action, which means he will not be able to play in the 2024 Wimbledon Championships in time for his preparations for the Olympics in Paris.
Nevertheless, the Serb recently posted a video to his Instagram account in which he is seen recovering from surgery by working out. Although there is a white tape visible on Novak Djokovic’s right leg, the Serbian is seen exercising without any pain, which is encouraging for all tennis fans.
“Progress” is what he captioned the video. Based on the video, it appears that Novak Djokovic will return before the July 1–14, 2024, Wimbledon.
Nonetheless, the tennis player from Serbia has expressed interest in competing for his country at the mega-event that is the Olympic Games. Bronze medalist Djokovic has competed in the Olympics. The 2008 Beijing Olympics saw him win a medal. He has not yet achieved his goal of winning a gold medal, so the Olympics in Paris in 2024 may be his last opportunity.
