There is a new president of Ohio State University. Ted Carter, a Nebraska native attending Ohio State, has arrived in Columbus.
Carter stated on Monday that he fully supports Ryan Day, the head football coach of the Buckeyes.
Ohio State had a difficult season in 2023, losing in the Cotton Bowl to Missouri after suffering a third-straight defeat to Michigan. The Buckeyes, however, plan to remain with their head coach.
Day has received Carter’s endorsement.
Carter told reporters on Monday, “I have a great respect for the biggest rivalries that exist in the country.” “As someone who oversaw the Naval Academy, I can attest that the rivalry between Army and Navy is the greatest—surpassed only by that between Michigan and Ohio State. Our objectives are to win the Big Ten and the national championship each year, and I believe Ryan Day would agree. That wasn’t how we met. However, Ryan Day has an excellent program. We are fortunate to have him as our coach, and I know he will stay that way.
Since veteran athletic director Gene Smith is retiring, Ohio State needs a new AD. The Buckeyes are now looking for a new AD.
Carter praised “the excellent job that acting president Peter Mohler did in assembling a search advisory team.” “We’ll be going into more detail, and you’ll be hearing from us soon.”
This will be one of the most significant hires of the year because Ohio State boasts one of the largest and most successful athletic programs in the nation.
