One of the Eagles’ draft selections was signed with promptitude.
The Eagles announced today that Johnny Wilson, a wide receiver selected in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL draft, had signed his rookie contract.
Wilson, who was selected 185th overall in the draft, is expected to sign a four-year, $4.2 million contract under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Wilson participated in ten games for Florida State last season, hauling in 41 catches for 617 yards and two scores. After transferring from Arizona State, he attended Florida State for two years.
Wilson wasn’t very productive in college, but at almost six feet seven, he is a huge target, and the Eagles have stated that they believe he can have a significant impact.
The physical height is merely an exception. Alan Wolking, the director of player personnel for the Eagles, said of Wilson, “He can make some of the most spectacular catches… and what you see is that he has the ability to get balls that almost no one can get to.”
The Eagles think Wilson has a lot of promise even if he will just be fighting for a roster place rather than a starting position.
