T.J. Watt is undeniably the driving force behind the Pittsburgh Steelers’ pass rush, yet Giants right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor remains unfazed by the challenge. Having faced Watt three times before, Eluemunor feels prepared and aims to take on Watt directly in this matchup.
Despite being questionable to play due to a groin injury, Eluemunor expressed his desire to handle Watt one-on-one, without any assistance on his side.
“I’m the most confident guy in this locker room,” Eluemunor remarked. “I think my play this year shows that. I want to be on an island with him all day.”
With starting left tackle Andrew Thomas out for the season due to a severe foot injury, Eluemunor has been frequently isolated in recent games. Given Watt’s history of facing constant chip blocks, it’s unlikely the Giants will entirely leave him to face Eluemunor alone.
If they do, though, the Steelers could see a big impact from Watt, who managed two sacks against Eluemunor last season and is primed for a standout game.
