Raiders Are Seeking to Exchange 32 Million Fan Feature: Insider
Hunter Renfrow, a wide receiver, is one of the players on the outside looking in as the Los Vegas Raiders are expected to make some significant changes this summer. Despite participating in all 17 games, he finished the previous season with just 25 catches.
Next season, Renfrow’s salary cap charge is scheduled to be $13.68, but if he is cut, it will only be a $5.5 million dead cap hit.
The Raiders will attempt to move the wide receiver, but Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal predicts that he won’t be with the team until 2024.
In a mailbag dated February 16, Bonsignore stated, The Raiders will look to trade their veteran wide receiver before releasing him.
However, Renfrow should be fired later this spring if he refuses to renegotiate the terms of his contract, which calls for him to make $11.153 million in the final year.
Renfrow has always been a Raiders fan favorite, and after making the Pro Bowl in 2021, it appeared as though he was going to take off. He hasn’t been as open as he once was, though, and has declined in recent years.
In the unlikely event that he agrees to a significant contract modification, he will most likely be playing elsewhere in 2024.

Hunter Renfrow hasn’t had many serious injuries in his brief 28 years of life. Perhaps he was just not a good match for Josh McDaniels’ offense. This summer, the Raiders hired Luke Getsy to be their offensive coordinator. Getsy will be implementing a brand-new scheme.
Getsy might have visions of a role for Renfrow, but the former Pro Bowl player faces a challenge because the Raiders have several receivers who can play in the slot.Before moving to Las Vegas, Jacob Meyers primarily played in the slot, where Davante Adams did a lot of damage.
Renfrow isn’t the most physically gifted wide receiver, but his excellent route running and skills allowed him to make plays.
But during the past two seasons, he hasn’t been able to get open as often and hasn’t been able to make the amazing catches that he used to be able to.
If Renfrow is able to start over somewhere else, that could be best for everyone. For the wide receiver, a reunion with Derek Carr on the New Orleans Saints might be exactly what he needs.
Las Vegas Raiders appoint RBs coaches & Assistant QBs coaches
The Raiders are now filling the last few slots on their coaching staff, which is beginning to take shape. As per Jeremy Fowler’s post on February 18, the team has named Fred Walker as the assistant quarterbacks coach on X. One of the few assistant coaches the team has kept on board will be him.
Sources say the Raiders plan to name Fred Walker as their assistant quarterbacks coach. Walker, who served as the team’s offensive assistant for the previous two seasons, is one of the few offensive coaches that Vegas kept.
According to a February 17 X post from Mike Gittens of The War Rapport, the Raiders have also hired former Auburn assistant coach Carnell Williams to take the position of running backs coach.
Carnell Williams, a former assistant coach at Auburn, is reportedly going to take a position with the Las Vegas Raiders. Williams will coach the running backs for the Raiders.
This is in response to Deshaun Foster’s decision to accept the head coaching position at UCLA rather than play for the Raiders.
Williams has been a college coach since 2015 after spending seven seasons as an NFL player. It will be his first job in the NFL.
