The Raider Nation’s head coach, Antonio Pierce, suspended a player after he tested positive for…

facebooktwitterredditFor any Silver and Black supporter, Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce’s article for The Players’ Tribune is a must-read.

Nobody really knew what to anticipate when Antonio Pierce took over as the Las Vegas Raiders’ temporary head coach the previous season. The former linebacker for the New York Giants had been an assistant coach for the team, but not much was known about his capacity to assume such a significant role inside the company.

Pierce saw this as the opportunity of a lifetime, and the previous season saw him not only accept the position with grace but also flourish in it. After taking over, Pierce guided the Raiders to a 5-4 record and won the admiration of the players, Raiders legends, and Raider Nation alike.

Pierce discusses what the fan base and the rest of the NFL may anticipate now that he is officially the head coach in an article titled “Raider Nation, Stand Up!” Pierce discusses his experience as a Raiders supporter, the meaning of his work, and even how few draft prospects he believes will play the game the “Raider Way.”

For every Raiders fan, this is a must-read, and Pierce’s writing reflects the same enthusiasm that he brings to his coaching. It is evident that the Raiders have a head coach who not only adores his team and this chance but also the franchise and wants to be remembered as one of the greatest to have ever worn the silver and black uniform.

Raiders’ decision to reinstate Pierce as HC was a wise one.

Rich Bisaccia took temporary command of the Raiders a few years ago and guided them to the postseason. But Mark Davis chose Josh McDaniels as head coach instead of Bisaccia, and we all know how that turned out.

This time, Davis made the decision to retain the productive interim head coach, removing Pierce’s interim designation and appointing him as the head coach early in the summer. Davis made the proper decision to move on from Pierce because doing otherwise would have infuriated players, supporters, and even some Raiders legends.

I think Pierce will continue to bring in the proper players to wear silver and black. Pierce is the kind of leader you want leading your team. Even though there will inevitably be setbacks, the players and supporters will appreciate the passion and commitment he brings to his work every day.
