Rangers moved quickly to seal the signing of Mohamed Diomande, the talented midfielder joining from Nordsjaelland for a sizeable fee.

Rangers new recruit Mohamed Diomande can’t wait to get started

Given that Clement has expressed a desire for a club that is resilient and dynamic, the Ivorian’s style of play surely fits the bill.

Another intriguing part of this trade is that his profile is exactly what one would anticipate from a successful player trading strategy.

Speaking with the Rangers media team, Mohamed Diomande expressed his excitement about beginning:

“I have heard great things about the team, and I am thrilled to be joining such a storied club.

I was persuaded that Rangers was the appropriate place for me after having several excellent discussions with the manager about his goals for the squad and how I would fit in.

“I’m really excited to get going, team up with my teammates, and run out in front of the Rangers fans at Ibrox for the first time.”

It’s unclear where Diomande will play just yet.

He can fill practically any of Philippe Clement’s three midfield positions, but since John Lundstram is the primary anchor, one of the other two positions is the most likely choice.

He may have more technical skill than Glen Kamara, akin to Nicolas Raskin and Dujon Sterling, but his work ethic and enthusiasm will be a great asset.

We’re hoping that our pals in the Home Office can expedite this process.
