Scottish Cup: Rangers Fans adviced to exercise Caution after ‘Dumbarton warning’ in Saturday clash

A weather warning has emerged in Dumbarton ahead of the Scottish Cup clash against Rangers on Saturday 20 January, as shared by the Daily Record.

The news on X was reported in the newspaper along with a rain warning due to the low temperatures that preceded an early afternoon pitch inspection.

Pitch inspections for many games this morning have already passed, despite the claims that weather “chaos” is creating issues for the cup weekend.

Chaos?

There might be some worries regarding the outcome of this game given the frigid temperatures and rain warnings.

Fortunately, images of the pitch taken this morning appeared to be good news, as there didn’t appear to be any obvious problems with the playing surface.

The home match between Rangers and Ross County at Ibrox has already been postponed in recent weeks; the more games that must be scheduled, the worse things will grow.

After problems at La Manga as well, Philippe Clement has previously acknowledged that he dislikes the surface at Dumbarton; the rain won’t make much of a difference in his

mind.

We’re hoping for a good game of football this evening, with a big victory required after the Christmas break, provided the pitch holds up.

That would be ideal preparation for returning to league play and, ideally, beginning to close the gap with Celtic in the upcoming crucial months at Ibrox.
