Jack Butland has been filmed clashing with a Rangers supporter outside Ibrox and had to be ushered away.

On May 5, following the Gers’ 4-1 victory over Kilmarnock, the goaltender got into a furious altercation with a fan outside the stadium.

The way Butland responded suggests that the nasty comment had to do with the Englishman supposedly not spending enough time with supporters after games, though it’s unclear what was said to provoke such a response.

A video that appeared on the Scottish Sun purports to show Butland saying, “I stop every single time.” Every single time.

“I’ve taken a one-week vacation. every week.

Will Jack Butland stay at Rangers?

After only one season at Ibrox, claims that Butland is eager to return to the Premier League this summer have cast doubt on his future at Rangers.

The goalkeeper, who was voted the Men’s Player of the Season, has been a key member of the Gers’ successful season. He has started all but one game in all competitions and accrued 4,860 minutes in 54 appearances [Transfermarkt].

Rangers has also let up the fewest goals in the Scottish Premiership thus far; in 35 league games, Butland has only been defeated 25 times.

Philippe Clement will hope the altercation does not affect his goalkeeper’s performance or concentration levels ahead of a potentially title-deciding Old Firm derby at Parkhead on 11 May, with Celtic just three points clear in the league standings.

If Butland does leave, he will hope to go out on a high as Rangers look to add both the league title and the Scottish FA Cup to the Scottish League Cup they won earlier this season.
